Published on the Gazzetta Ufficiale of the European Union on the 29th of May 2007 has become law on the 1st of June 2007.

Its dispositions concern in Italy alone more than 2.000 chemical factories and more than 100.000 companies of industrial transformation.

Le sue disposizioni coinvolgono solo in Italia oltre 2.000 imprese chimiche e oltre 100.000 imprese di trasformazione industriale.

The Regulation requires the registration of all the substances produced or imported in the EU territories in quantities larger or equal to 1 ton per year.

The REACH establishes the European Chemical Agency (ECHA), based in Helsinki to manage and in some cases set the technical and scientific aspects as well as the administrative ones connected to the practical and coherent implementation at a community level.
